“The Music Department of the College of the Holy Cross presents a multimedia project centered around “Tapamveni”, a piece for solo cello by composer and Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Peter Child. The piece is inspired by ancient rock art of the indigenous people of the North American southwest. The project merges the performance of “Tapamveni” by artist-in residence Jan Müller-Szeraws with images by Ekkehart Malotki, Professor Emeritus of Northern Arizona University, author and expert of Hopi language and culture.”
