The Power of Music to Help Cope with COVID-19

Though this article does not talk specifically about the practice of live music meditations, it sheds light onto why using music as a meditative tool is particularly important and relevant now, more than ever. It also talks about why music can be a helpful aid in relieving stress and in meditating.

Dopamine, serotonin, and oxytocin are all hormones that are released when we listen to or create music. Each of these are helpful in reducing anxiety and feeling happiness.

Since our world went into lockdown, many people have found themselves feeling isolated from others, which has caused many mental health challenges. Music is a powerful tool in alleviating some of these challenges, often providing a type of therapy for those engaging with it.
